Efficient and Effective Information Retrieval and Sharing (EEIRS) RFI Response Analysis
Issued By: GSA - Effective Date: 12.22.2005, 173K, PDF
Abstract: In September and October 2005, U.S. General Services Administration's (GSA) Office of Governmentwide Policy surveyed industry, academia, and government agencies with an instrument that covered a wide range of information retrieval, categorization, dissemination, and sharing needs and capabilities. The intent was to identify and promote the most cost-effective means to search for, identify, locate, retrieve, and share information, and assess the net performance difference (including cost-benefits) of assigning metadata and/or a controlled vocabulary to various types of information versus not doing so.
